A marker dedication was held on April 6, 1975, honoring Captain Louis Le Pelletier de la Houssaye, Captain of dragoons under general Bernardo de Galvez, in St. Martinville, Louisiana. Approximately four hundred attended, including the State Regent, Frances Flanders, and other state dignitaries. Barbara de la Houssaye, State Historian, was Mistress of Ceremonies. A parade was sponsored by the chapter to celebrate the Bicentennial of the Constitution of the United States. The parade was held on September 22, 1988. There were bands and religious, civic, and military marching groups, with many floats and cars participating.
